About the artist
Viktoria Strecker

Viktoria Strecker is a German artist from Cologne who makes abstract art such as drawing, paintings, sculptures and installations.

She studied and tutored at the renowned Kunstakademie Düsseldorf in the class of Marcel Odenbach. Her work focuses on the meditative process of creating itself inside a superior – almost alchemical – research of diverting states and related conditions. Her works are monuments of meticulous but open compositions created in different time frames and varying levels of control. She locates those willingly complex efforts to capture regularity by diverting it from regular ways of construction at the edge of chaos which she perceives as pure potential in an abundance mindset. She often (re)uses unusual materials which surround us in everyday life to draw with and translates the quality of the chosen substance into her unique drawing style by integrating its characteristics.

With the sharpness of a scalpel or the transforming force of fire numerous structures arise in fractal iterations and extend to multiple layers capturing transcendent thoughts in a nonverbal universal language which could be both used in micro- and macrocosmic spheres.

Organic, discomforting, enigmatic and encouraging at the same time; her pieces are inviting the recipient to wander around in its mind and let go of former ways of perception. Reminding him of something within himself that was forgotten long ago.
