About the artist
Nataliya Borushchak

Unfathomable objects made of patterned fabrics, lace and many other materials form the elements from which Nataliya Borushchak creates her mysterious drawings. With these sensually seductive, soft patterns the artist attracts the viewer’s eye carrying emotions and recalling memories.

Borushchak creates the illusion of object-like three-dimensionality through ingenious, constructed layers and folds, detaching from its base and releasing them into the room. Dissecting her work, textures are deliberately separated, creating associations sometimes reminiscent of natural landscapes or reptile skins.

Borushchak’s creations oscillate with biomorphic vapors; expanding and failing to clearly identify themselves. Connected, beautiful surfaces that have a meditative effect on the viewer only emerge on the paper as surreal objects, in a fascinating way between familiarity and alienation.
